High Interest Day!

High Interest Day was a blast!! Check out a few pictures of kids caught in action!  Everyone had a fantastic day learning while playing!!  

 

 

 

The new WI Forward Exam will take place in April.  All 3rd grade students in Team Respect will take parts of the test in the first hour of the school day from 8:45-9:45 A.M. 
The testing dates are:

     Tuesday, April 19 - Reading Part 1
     Wednesday, April 20 - Reading Part 1
     Thursday, April 21 - Writing & Listening Part 2 & 3

      Tuesday, April 26 - Math Part 1
      Wednesday, April 27 - Math Part 2

Spring Sing

The spring sing featured all of the 2/3 classes showcasing their talents in songs as well as instruments.  It was a wonderful event!

Discovery World Field Trip

Discovery World was a fantastic field trip!  It was a day filled with learning by engaging in endless hands-on activities.  A great big Thank You to the parents who joined us and helped to ensure that each small group of students could experience as many opportunities as possible that day and helped the students stick to their scheduled event times.  Thank you also to the many parents who offered to chaperone, but were unable to come along this time.  I hope you will be able to attend the next field trip with us.  Enjoy some of the pictures taken with the group of students that explored Discovery World with me!  Everyone had a fabulous time!!

Family Math Night!

Family Game Night was a success!  We enjoyed sharing a few math activities and showing off our math ability. 

Holiday concert time!

To welcome in the holiday season we were treated to the Band, Orchestra, and Choir Concert!  These students have really practiced hard since the beginning of the year in order to perform for us already.  We can't wait to hear them again in the spring. 

 

The week before Winter Break was very exciting and fun.  PTA supplied every classroom with a Gingerbread House to decorate.  Each student helped in the designing and decorating.  These were on display for all to enjoy and then 1 lucky student's name was drawn to take it home!  New this year was a Santa's Workshop put on by PTA.  Each student could shop for gifts for their families.  We also had a classroom celebration with treats before the All School Bingo game.  We helped our reading buddies and enjoyed lots of fun and a few lucky winners also received cool prizes!

 

Winter MAP testing is complete!  Congratulate your child on a great effort.  Most students increased their reading and math fall score by quite a few points.  It proves all their hard work in class and doing their homework at night pays off. 

 

 

Door Decoration WINNERS!!!!

Room 214 won the door decoration contest!! 
We won the category of "Clever Connection to reading" and along with this honor we also won $40 to spend at the book fair.  We will be previewing the books on Monday with our buddy class.  The book fair will be open during the conference evenings and also on Saturday (Oct. 30) for the Grand Event. 

Conferences will be held Monday, Oct. 26 and Tuesday, Oct. 27.  It will be a great chance to hear about the progress your child is making this school year.
